ACF selected this year's tournament honoree, Grandmaster Jim Morrison of Glasgow, KY...  The 2009 Jim Morrison ACF National GAYP Tournament  is a fitting tribute to Mr. Morrison for his long record of GAYP achievements, and Lebanon, TN is close to where he lives, just 65 miles up the road.

Our National GAYP Tournaments are perpetuated by Derek E. Oldbury who lived from March 21, 1924 to July 9, 1994.  He won his first British Championship in 1953.  He won the U.S. National Ty. in 1976. Derek was the top British player in the 4th International Match (1983) with a 2-0-12 record.  He was 3-move World Champion from 1991-1994 and GAYP World Champion from 1976 -1982.  He was a checker author of several works and generously set up trust funds to promote GAYP play.  The bulk of our ACF Trust Fund is from his initial deposit. A portion of the prize fund is an interest withdrawal from our trust supporting the GAYP National in odd years.

For reservations, call 1-615-449-5781 and tell them you are a checker player.  Please make your reservations early.  For more information, call Frank Davis at 1-931-552-4246.
